May 18th 2010 = A Press Meet was held inviting all the National Newspapers in Chennai, and Prof.Dr.G.Arjundas Professor Emeritus and one of India’s leading Neurologist, along with Mr.Ramkrishna, President, MSSI India & Mrs. Ann Gonsalvez, Vice President, MSSI, India & Secretary, Tamil Nadu Chapter, spoke to the Press. May 19th 2010 = A National Seminar on “The Emerging Role of Business: Not Just For Profit” was held by the Madras Chamber of Commerce & Industry with the NGO partner being Multiple Sclerosis Society of India. The guest of the day was the Former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who spoke on Corporate Social Responsibility. It was largely attended by over 150 Corporates, NGO’s and MSSI members. Mr. Michael Boneham, President & MD, Ford India. Mr. Kevin Thieneman, President Asia, Caterpillar,and Mr Bryan Dalton, Acting Consul General of USA, Mr Rajeev Ranjan, Principal Secretary Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Parul Soni, Executive Director, Ernst & Young spoke. The former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam handed over a cheque of Rs.10 lakhs to the two Vice presidents of MSSI, Mrs. Ann Gonsalvez, and Sheela Chitnis. It was Supported by Madras Chamber of Commerce of Commerce & Industry.

MSSI - Monthly Meeting - 20th March 2010
Multiple Sclerosis Society of India Chennai Chapter has organized a talk on Nutrition on 20th March 2010 at BOSCH office for MS person, care givers and Members.
Dr. Varsha, MSc PhD RD CNIS, is a Clinical Nutritionist, Founder Chair - Indian Institute of Nutritional Sciences and Executive Director -Parvatiben Trikamji Bhatt, Dr.Varsha gave a talk to MS person and to their care givers about nutritional food. She has also explained in which food is rich in carbohydrates and vitamins and what quantity we have to consume it. She also emphasizes the important of taking food on time and with proper interval.
It’s really very helpful to MS persons as they get tired very easily so they need energy to carry them. We also had good question and answer session. Very patiently she has cleared the doubts what MS Person and care givers are raised.
